Most people agree Oklahoma is more of a midwestern state than southern, and one town in Oklahoma that has the charm and character of the midwest is Pawhuska. The town is full of friendly people, historical places and pure midwest charm. Pawhuska is so perfectly midwestern, you’ll feel right at home the moment you visit.
Pawhuska is a small town in northeastern Oklahoma that was established in 1872. The town has just over 3,500 residents and is the capital of the Osage Nation.
Downtown Pawhuska is a charming area where 86 of its 98 buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places. It's the perfect place to dine, shop or conduct business.
You'll find many charming and historical places throughout town. Look for the Chamber of Commerce that is housed in the Blacksmith's House that was built in 1871.
Another fascinating building to visit in town is Constantine Theater - a restored theater over 100 years old that hosts plays, musicals, classic films and special events.
And for a true midwestern experience, stay the night at the Grandview Inn Bed & Breakfast in historic Pawhuska. The Inn will pamper you with all weekend long with a gourmet breakfast, spacious accommodations and great hospitality.
