McClintock Saloon & Chop House Is An Old-School Steakhouse In Oklahoma That Pays Homage To The West
Going way back to 1910, Stockyards City was once home to packing plants, integral to the cattle market. Today, the area has been revitalized and is now home to over 70 different businesses, such as markets, galleries, shops, and restaurants. And speaking of restaurants, if you are looking for an Old West meal with an Old West feel, head to McClintock Saloon & Chop House. Opened in 2017, both the restaurant’s décor and menu hearken back to the Old West, more than 100 years ago.
McClintock Saloon & Chop House is located in the former space of McClintock Heritage Collection, a boot store.
Within its 7,300 square feet (complete with a whiskey garden in the back), patrons can grab a drink or meal (or both!), with the choice of three dining areas.
Not your typical Old West establishment, you won’t find swinging doors, hitching posts, or girls dancing here.
Like drinks! Whether on its own or with your meal, consider grabbing a drink as well. There are red and white wines and domestic, imported, and craft beers. There are also a ton of spirits available, including over 200 types of whiskey.
And there is also a large assortment of some not-so-standard staples, like deep-fried avocados, jalapeno cheddar kolaches, and chicken-fried quail.
There’s a lot to choose from for dinner. Grab a seafood dish like shrimp scampi or blackened Atlantic salmon. Chicken is also a good choice with fried chicken and chicken pot pie offered.
But since this is a chop house, we’d certainly recommend grabbing a steak, like a porterhouse or the bone-in prime cowboy ribeye. And don’t forget that there’s also pasta, veggies, and a nice assortment of different sides.
