Located in the San Bois Mountains in southeast Oklahoma, Robbers Cave State Park offers some of the best hiking in the state. Its 25 miles of hiking trails and two back country campsites make it a great spot for overnight camping. The Rough Canyon Trail is an almost 3-mile trail that loops within the park. It is an easy-to-moderate hike that can be enjoyed by those looking for a leisurely hike, or it can be extended to other trails for the more advanced hiker.

This 2.9-mile loop is not very strenuous (except for one significant climb early on) and has some very nice views of Rough Canyon and Fourche Maline Creek.

If you add on Cattail Pond Trails, you can extend the hike to 5.5 miles.
The Rough Canyon trail begins just west of the Robbers Cave parking lot.

Look for the Rough Canyon sign and the trail will head east toward Rough Canyon.

The trailhead has a little steep incline and a walking stick can be used for those seeking assistance.
