People Drive From All Over Oklahoma To Try The Pies At Pie Junkie
Let’s not pretend that the best part of any meal isn’t dessert. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, ending with the perfect bite of something sweet wraps a nice little bow on the entire experience. We’re not particularly picky when it comes to dessert, but we’ve always had a hard time denying ourselves a slice of pie. Even better is taking home the whole thing! If you agree, you’ll want to make a trip to this spot that specializes in this scrumptious dessert. They might just have the best pie in the state!
Pie Junkie in Oklahoma City is a dessert lover's dream. The shop is completely dedicated to all things pie and the options are seemingly endless.
Pie Junky, which opened in 2010, is the brain-child of Darcy Schein and Leslie Coale-Mossman. The two women began cooking together and share a love of family recipes and enjoying time at the kitchen with those they love.
The shop itself is small with just a few tables. That might explain why there's often a line out the door on special days. It also might explain why it's not uncommon to see people walking to their cars already eating their pie. It's just too good to wait if there's no room inside!
The shop offers both whole pies and slices. You can place an order for a whole pie 48-hours or more in advance, but if you miss the cut-off you can always take your chances with what's available in the case. They always make extra and each one is sure to be delicious.
We think the slices are the best and there's always a rotating selection. These sell-out throughout the day, so be sure to call ahead and pre-buy one if you have your heart set on one. The last thing you want is to come in and leave without the slice of your dreams!
Looking for something that will make you feel a bit healthier? Opt for something with fruit. We can promise it's any less sugary, but you can tell yourself it's better for you!
Pie Junky is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. They’re closed on Sunday and Monday. Head to their website to learn more about them, or check them out on Facebook. They can be reached on 405-605-8767.
