Tishomingo’s majestic Blue River is one of the last streams in the state to flow from it’s natural source without the interference of man-made structures controlling its flow. The Blue River starts in Johnson County and flows southeast to the Red River. Blue River is two hours from Oklahoma City and two and one half hours from Tulsa.
The Blue River is famous for its abundance of trout. It's also filled with small-mouth bass, black bass, crappie and blue catfish. It's one of the best spots to fish in the state.

It is a Class II-III river and is perfect for kayaking or canoeing. Please note that you do have to bring your own water toys, there are no outfitters allowed along the Blue River.
