Life isn’t as much fun if you can’t enjoy a mouthwatering burger, so it’s a good thing I found one of the best in the state that’s worth the calories. Tucked away in the Oklahoma City metro area is The Cow Calf-Hay – an unassuming restaurant that serves delicious burgers made from the highest quality beef and ingredients. Once you take a bite, you’ll see the difference. Don’t’ just take my word for it, take a look at these delectable burgers for yourself.
So where do you find this place? You're in luck because they now have two locations: Edmond and Downtown Oklahoma City. The Edmond location (shown below) is located at 3409 Wynn Drive, just off the road in an unassuming shopping center.
As you enter the doors, the cow host(ess) will greet you and tell you to take a seat anywhere you would like. Take notice of the names on the cow and I'll tell you why below.
The dining room is full of more cow decor and it's fun to look at all the decorations. There's nothing fancy about this place, so come as you are and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
And now for the burgers (drumroll, please!).....These juicy burgers are made from Certified Angus Beef, 100% fresh, never frozen beef, and you'll be able to taste the difference.
The cheese is melted into the bun so it melts in your mouth. (There's nothing worse than a cold cheese slice that's been thrown on the burger at the last minute.)
Pork lovers can add crispy bacon as a topping for an extra pop of flavor. Pair it with a side of onion rings and french fries and you'll think you died and went to heaven.
Wash it all down with a hand spun milkshake that is served in a cold, glass mason jar. The rim is lined with candy and bursting with whipped cream and toppings.
Remember the cow up above with all the names on it? They are all winners of the Six Shooter Challenge - a 45-minute contest where you have to eat everything on your plate (basically, it's 6 cheeseburgers in one, onion rings, curly fries and a piece of Cow Pie Cake.) Are you up for the challenge?
Not only do they serve delicious burgers, but they have a full menu including breakfast. They are open Monday - Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8: 00 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
