You'll find them in pretty much every part of the state, but if you visit wooded or grassy areas, be careful because the number of ticks is much greater. If you find a tick on your body, grab it by the head with a pair of tweezers and gently pull it off. Go straight to the doctor if you notice any itching, redness, or swelling at the bite site.
