And one of our favorite Ohio State Parks is home to a next-level dog park, doggie splash park, and puppy obstacle course that’s truly four-paws up, and a must-visit for Buckeye State pooches and their people.
There's a well-known saying that "every dog has its day," but here in the Buckeye State, we happen to think that everyday is a doggo's day.
Happily, this isn't difficult to do in Ohio, a state with so many dog-friendly parks and attractions. None, however, compare to the next-level offerings at Shawnee State Park.
Known for its breathtaking beauty and scenic splendor, Shawnee State Park is a darling of the Ohio State Parks, boasting some 1,095 acres perfect for recreation of all varieties.
Kayaking is a popular pastime here, and the ADA-compliant Kayak Launch at Roosevelt Lake Boat Ramp makes this type of recreation accessible for all. But it's not the only accessible aquatic activity at Shawnee State Park...
...the Ohio River Campground and Marina is an epic outdoor playground for people and pups, featuring a dedicated dog playground with tons of space to run, next-level jungle gym/obstacle course, and even water features! Take that, dog days of summer...
