What This Man Did At An Ohio Zoo Was Astounding…And Caught On Video

Last week a YouTube video of a local man petting two cougars at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium went viral. The video shows 35-year-old Joshua Newell jumping the fence to pet the cougars and even calling out “Here kitty, kitty, kitty”—just as if he was calling out to a house cat.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! Although Newell’s video was posted on YouTube last week, it’s unclear when Newell actually jumped the fence to pet the cougars. According to multiple news outlets, police charged Newell with trespassing and he is scheduled to appear in court this Wednesday.
