The fall season in Ohio is indescribably beautiful. Our small towns come alive with charm, our countryside roads are bursting with color and our state parks are downright stunning. The following are what we consider to be the 10 most beautiful places to visit in Ohio during the autumn season.

Ohio's most scenic state park comes alive with color in the fall. Take a canopy tour, kayak at the lake or hike to Old Man's Cave for the picture perfect fall day.

Nothing can warm your heart the way the rolling hills of Ohio Amish Country can. Take a scenic drive through your favorite part and let the countryside scenery soothe your soul.

Ohio's very own national park is absolutely breathtaking during the fall. Take a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad, snap a photo of Branywine Falls (pictured) and hike to The Ledges Overlook for an unforgettable adventure.

If you're in the Cleveland area, visiting the metroparks in autumn guarantees you some stunning fall foliage to enjoy and photograph. Pictured is the beautiful Squire's Castle.

Youngstown is home to the second largest metropark in the U.S. (after Central Park in New York City), and it's unbelievably gorgeous in the fall. This quiet gem amid the hustle and bustle of the city features some of the area's most popular attractions such as Fellows Riverside Gardens and Lanterman's Mill.

In the Dayton area, you'll also find stunning fall foliage within several metroparks. Pictured is Hills and Dales Metropark in Kettering.

Drive through America's shortest and longest covered bridge along this scenic route, which features 18 covered bridges in Ashtabula County. Begin your drive at the Netcher Road bridge near Jefferson and continue to the Smolen-Gulf Bridge (pictured) near the Ashtabula River.

Just because you can't run through the water fountains at The Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus in autumn doesn't mean you shouldn't visit this waterfront park during the fall. It's just as gorgeous...if not more.

This outdoor museum and sculpture park in Hamilton is every art enthusiast's dream come true--and it's even more colorful and artistic during the autumn months.

After a day of hiking or zip lining, stay the night in a cozy cabin or epic treehouse at this serene state park in the fall.
