In 1945, Louise Schwartz opened The Echo, a little sandwich shop near the corner of Edwards and Erie Avenues in Hyde Park, a bustling neighborhood just north of Cincinnati, Ohio.
It was a classic and humble little diner that did what diners do best: serve up delicious, hot, home-cooked meals with impeccable service, time and time again.
That's why, 75+ years later, The Echo continues to thrive in its little corner of Ohio, with customers often lining up along the street for a table! It's worth it though.
The Echo has garnered much acclaim and admiration over the years and is beloved for its accessible and straightforward menu comprised of classic, all-American dishes.
