Take An Easy Loop Trail Past Some Of The Prettiest Scenery In Ohio On The Ledges Trail
The Ledges Trail is undoubtedly one of the most stunning parts of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. That’s high praise indeed, as the beloved area has over 32,000 acres of pristine rural landscape. The trail’s focal point and namesake are the Ritchie Ledges, archaeological remnants of a time long ago when the area was a swamp.

The valley was long ago inhabited by the Lenapé Nation tribe of Native Americans, who believe that all land is sacred and alive.

The Cuyahoga Valley is unique because it is so close to multiple metropolitan areas. Akron and Cleveland are both nearby, but feel far from the sandstone cliffs of the ledges.

You can see over much of the Cuyahoga Valley from the overlook— a phenomenal sight at any time of year! The overlook is above a wooded area so the trees change color with the seasons.
