One of the best parts about hiking in Ohio is that it’s available to all skill levels. Today’s feature trail boasts beautiful waterfront views without requiring too much exertion. Known as the Hinckley Lake Inner Loop, this lovely trail is simply magnificent during the summertime, when the marshy landscape takes on a magical allure. Wonderful for wildlife enthusiasts and outdoor adventurers of all kinds, this trail might just become your new summer favorite. So lace up those hiking boots; it’s time to explore!
Tucked away in northeastern Ohio, Hinckley Reservation is built around the 90-acre Hinckley Lake, a magnificent landmark enjoyed by paddlers, fishermen, and hikers alike.
The 2.9-mile trail is mostly characterized by well-maintained dirt pathways that circle around the lake. Portions of the trail are paved; however, the majority is not.
While there are a few inclines along the way, you'll find that most of the trail is flat and doable for most skill levels. Plus, there are a few benches along the way where you can rest while soaking in the exquisite scenery.
What makes this trail so memorable is that there is such a variety of things: solitude, public recreational spaces, peaceful woods, and expansive lake views. In short, there's something for everyone along the Hinckley Lake Inner Loop.
