Located in Berlin in the heart of Ohio's Amish country, Boyd & Wurthmann is a no-frills eatery that offers delicious home-cooked Amish and American cuisine. It opened as a general store in 1938 and soon expanded to include a restaurant, making it one of the longest-running businesses in the area.
This humble, Amish-style restaurant was opened by Herman Wurthmann and Dayle Boyd, who created the namesake restaurant with just 22 tables, five booths, and one round table. Today, the community cornerstone is owned by the Dennis Mullet family and still serves up homestyle specials and homemade pies true to the vision of its founders. The restaurant's diminutive dining area has remained unchanged, too, with lines of good-natured regulars often forming out the door!
Since the restaurant's first days, it's been a gathering place for locals. Many come here for a home-cooked breakfast and end up staying for a piece of pie and cup of coffee!
When you visit Boyd & Wurthmann, expect to be treated like family. Orders are carefully put together and made from scratch using quality ingredients and time-honored recipes.
