Dinosaurs Have Arrived At A Popular Ohio Conservatory And It's A Prehistoric Adventure For The Ages

There’s something about dinosaurs that’s undeniably compelling and fascinating. These prehistoric creatures harken back to a time that’s almost unbelievable, when you really think about it. Having kids has definitely made me a more curious adult; kids ask questions and probe at things that grown ups take for granted. Like, for instance, the existence of dinosaurs. All of this is to say that, when I heard about the arrival of dinosaurs at Krohn Conservatory, one of my favorite places in Ohio, I eagerly loaded up the crew for a prehistoric adventure.
Krohn Conservatory is one of my favorite places in Ohio. Verdant and vivacious, this Cincinnati treasure is the kind of place that always makes me feel happier and calmer.
Whether I'm wandering through the desert or tropical biomes, marveling over the carnivorous plants, or admiring the impeccably pruned bonsai trees, visiting this Ohio conservatory is truly a treat for the senses.
I'm always thrilled to see what's happening in the exhibition room at Krohn Conservatory, too; over the years, I've taken my kids to seasonal shows featuring everything from bikes and bees to butterflies and trains. This summer's show, however, might just be the most thrilling yet.
This show has the exhibition room filled with larger-than-life dinosaurs; man-made botanical sculptures of a tyrannosaurus rex, triceratops, pterosaur, and more.
These creatures bridge the gap between art and nature; they're all made from organic materials that have been manipulated and transformed into true masterpieces.
Those who visit Krohn’s annual holiday train show will recognize Applied Imagination’s signature branch-bending, naturally constructed pieces -- and the company's artists have truly outdone themselves with this season’s show.
Dinosaurs might be the last thing you'd expect to see at this stately and beautiful Ohio conservatory, but when you think about it, it makes perfect sense. Because just like the dinosaurs, the plants and blooms of Krohn Conservatory also harken back to another time and place.
The opportunity to walk among creatures that roamed the planet long ago, in an environment filled with prehistoric plants like cycads, horsetails, and ginkgo trees, is one you absolutely shouldn’t pass up. It will have you marveling at the wide, wonderful world in which we live, and the flora and fauna with whom we share the earth. What could be better than that?
