This Heartwarming Story About Tommy’s On Coventry Is So Perfectly Cleveland
Living in the world we do today, it’s not every day that we have the pleasure of reading a story that restores our faith in humanity. But luckily for us, this week we were so graciously reminded that there are still amazing, caring people living in our local communities. To start off your day with a heartwarming albeit tragic story, continue reading below.

If you've grown up in the Cleveland area like so many of us, then it's almost certain that you've stopped in to Tommy's Restaurant on Coventry. The restaurant is a great spot for amazing food, but most people find themselves craving a trip to Tommy's because of their mouthwatering milkshakes.
Shared on Facebook by a man named Sam Klein, he went on to share a story with the general public that none of us will ever forget. Klein explained in his Facebook post that his close friend Emily Pomeranz had unfortunately fallen ill to pancreatic cancer and was moved to hospice down in Arlington, Virginia. During Emily's last days he asked her if she needed anything and Pomeranz had one of the most Cleveland responses a girl could give: a Cleveland Indians hat. After bringing the hat to her the following day, Pomeranz also mentioned that she wished she could have one more milkshake from Tommy's.

As any amazing friend would, Klein reached out to Tommy's via email and ended up receiving a phone call from the owner a few days later letting him know he would do whatever it took to get Pomeranz one last milkshake. After planning on shipping the shake from Cleveland to Arlington, Tommy's was able to give Pomeranz the last wish she had been longing for. Klein helped get Tommy's milkshake into her hands, giving her a surprise she never thought would be possible. In Klein's post he explains that Pomeranz was so thrilled by the surprise, that she talked about it for days and made a point to tell all of her friends and family back home in Cleveland. Sadly, Klein also delivered the news in his post that Klein went on to pass away shortly after, but not before having that last milkshake.
