Here Are 10 Things You’ll Never Catch Anyone From Cleveland Doing
There are a lot of things that only people from Cleveland will ever do, such as rooting for the Browns, but the opposite is just as true. There are certain things that true Clevelanders will never do, like:
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life. While we continue to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, please take proper precautions or add them to your bucket list to see at a later date. If you know of a local business that could use some extra support during these times, please nominate them here:
1. Go to a Broadway show.
Why go all the way to New York City when Cleveland is home to a theater district just as memorable? Playhouse Square consistently ranks among the best theater districts in the country, making the glitz and glamor of Broadway feel irrelevant in Cleveland.
2. Complain about the cold.
Cleveland is no stranger to extreme conditions. The thermometer regularly dips below zero here for a brutal stretch of months in the winter, but we're used to it by now. Nothing a scarf can't fix.
3. Hate St. Patrick's Day
It's a known fact that everyone in Cleveland is at least a little Irish. At least, that's how they tend to act every St. Patrick's Day, when the city is taken over by the green masses.
4. Root for the away team.
If there's one thing that unites the people of Cleveland, it's our devotion to our sports teams. No matter how rough it gets, a true Clevelander sticks by the home team.
5. Order non-local beer.
The craft brewing scene in Cleveland is one of the most hopping in America (pun intended). Whether it's pumpkin beer in the fall or Christmas ale over the holidays, there's plenty of delicious local brews to go around.
6. Dislike corned beef.
It's no secret that one of Cleveland's staple foods is this delicious cold cut. Clevelanders love their corned beef - especially when it's piled 6 inches high on an amazing Slyman's sandwich.
7. Stress about getting around town.
Thanks to Cleveland's superb public transportation system, the RTA, travelling around from place to place in Cleveland is a relative breeze compared to other cities.
8. Leave Cleveland for medical care.
It's comforting to have an internationally-recognized hospital in your home city. The Cleveland Clinic boasts state-of-the-art equipment and seasoned, expert staff, making it one of the best hospitals in America. You should never want to end up in the hospital, but at least in Cleveland, you're in good hands.
9. Let down their fellow Clevelanders.
Cleveland is a city full of wonderful people. Should you ever find yourself on hard times, your Cleveland neighbors will almost assuredly be there to help you back up on your feet. It's that sense of charity that makes Cleveland special.
10. Diss Cleveland.
Above all, the people of Cleveland know their city is a special place. Despite the ups and downs throughout the city's history, you'd be hard pressed to find someone in Cleveland who doesn't look at the Forest City with a touch of pride.
These are just a few of the things that an average Clevelander will go through. What are some other things people from Cleveland won’t do?
