You’ll Want To Visit This Dreamy Sunflower Field Near Cleveland Before It’s Gone For Good

Have you ever seen those gorgeous portraits taken in a field of sunflowers and wondered to yourself, does such a place truly exist? Here in Greater Cleveland, you don’t have to search far for such visual splendor. However, this is the last year that you’ll be able to visit the dreamy destination at the corner of Jaycox and Chester Road in Avon.

Welcome to Northeast Ohio's most stunningly sunshiny destination: Maria's Field of Hope.

This endless sea of yellow was dreamed up to honor Maria McNamara, who passed away in 2007 from a brain tumor. She was seven years old, but her spirit lives on in these thousands of joyful blooms.

The flowers represent the many children fighting cancer, and it continues to raise awareness in and inspire visitors.

Over the years, the Prayers From Maria Foundation has raised over a million dollars to put toward cancer research.

While Maria was fighting her own battle, her beautiful soul kept praying for others who faced similar hardships. Her loving spirit lives on and inspires total strangers daily, strengthening our communities and bringing us one step closer to getting rid of cancer for good.

You'll adore this 35-acre field, and you'll be humbled by the brave and beautiful little girl who inspired it.
Unfortunately, 2018 will be the last year you can visit the field at its beloved site off of I-90.

But just because this location will be closing doesn't mean the field won't live on at a new location.

Though this will be the last year to watch these lovely flowers bloom in Avon, we remain hopeful that another field will appear in the future.
