When Clevelanders think of parks, the Cleveland Metroparks is typically the entity that comes to mind. The elaborate park system is so cherished that it has set our standards and expectations high. Fortunately, though, this one park near Cleveland promises to exceed those expectations — you won’t believe what is hidden inside.
Welcome to Wagon Trails Animal Park, where the entertainment is kind of wild.

Wagon Trails is open seasonally May through October 22, and you'll want to visit before the season ends.
The months between May and October offer weather that allows the fascinating array of animals to wander the park comfortably. Though it is only open for six months out of the year, this park is incredible and may even become an anticipated yearly tradition.

More than 350 animals from six different continents come together at this remarkable destination. This capybara is just one of many unique species to call the park home.
Admission covers an exciting safari ride across the grounds and time at the petting zoo.
Here, large animal enclosures span acres, a refreshing change from the small pens found at traditional zoos. Your safari guide will take you across 60 acres of woods and ponds, and you will be surprised to see species that you've never even heard of before, like the Coatimundi.
Oh, and the animals would love to interact with you... but only if you have a treat for them!
These crazy critters love to eat, and who can blame them? Safari food is covered in admission, so you are guaranteed to make some new friends. Since they'll be coming up close and personal, you will also have the opportunity to take some outrageous selfies with these expressive critters.

From September 23 through October 22, admission also covers a hayride and apple toss adventure. After you explore the safari, hop aboard the hay ride, which will take you to the Apple Toss. Enjoy feeding apples to bison, zebra, camels, and other familiar faces.
