When we are talking about one of Northeast Ohio’s oldest forests, “ancient,” “pre-modern,” and “super-duper old” are all appropriate adjectives, and this one tucked away in the gorgeous North Chagrin Reservation has remained untouched for hundreds of years. Its landscape allows locals the opportunity to witness Ohio’s amazing landscape as it is meant to be seen.

We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. While we’re continuing to feature destinations that make our state wonderful, we don’t expect or encourage you to go check them out immediately. We believe that supporting local attractions is important now more than ever and we hope our articles inspire your future adventures! And on that note, please nominate your favorite local business that could use some love right now:

This pretty forest has roots that span hundreds of years, complete with trees that predate the founding of our country. Its wooded expanse offers a glimpse into what Ohio once looked like long before we left our mark on its dreamy landscape.

Oh, and while you’re in the reservation, be sure to check out the ruins of an old castle.
