Of course, the best time to visit the Akron Zoo is during autumn. The Halloween season at the Akron Zoo is downright magical! Don your finest costume and prepare to get up close and personal with some spooky and incredible critters, because this fun little zoo is calling your name.

While the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is nearly 200 acres in size, the Akron Zoo is a digestible and family-friendly 50 acres.

Each year, this small and friendly zoo transforms into a Halloween wonderland... and new in 2020 is the highly anticipated Howl-O-Ween Celebration!

This spooky (but not scary) event, presented by Acme Fresh Market, is a fang-tastic way to get the kids out of the house and to interact with some of the coolest critters from all around the world.

This event takes place on weekends in October, with Fridays reserved for members and Saturdays and Sundays set aside for the general public.

And this awesome little zoo has also set aside a more "zoothing" time slot for people with special needs that would prefer to stay away from crowds and loud noises.

Costumes are encouraged to make this event extra memorable, so you'll want to plan that out in advance.

You'll also want to reserve your ticket in advance, as time slots are limited and this event is sure to be a popular one.

Pricing for non-members is $10 per adult and $13 per child, although members will enjoy an additional discount.

And don't worry, the kiddos will be taking home a treat bag at the end of their visit!
