9 Unique Fall Festivals In Cleveland You Won’t Find Anywhere Else
Right now, we are in the final stretch of summer. Fall doesn’t officially begin until September 22, but cooler days and apple- and pumpkin-flavored goodies make it feel as though the season is arriving. In Cleveland, our vast diversity of trees across our beautiful forested landscape paint the world in shades of gold and rust, adding beautiful warmth to an environment that already seems to be anticipating a freezing cold winter. Before we have to face off against a cold Cleveland winter, let’s get out and make the most of the autumnal festivities!
1. Mantua Potato Festival - Buchert Park, Mantua
Mark your calendar for September 8th through 10th, because you and your best spuds—er, I mean
buds—are going to love this event. Enjoy potatoes, drinks, and live entertainment across one festive weekend celebrating our most worthy starch.
2. Fall Into Avon - French Creek District, Avon
Stop by Avon's French Creek District September 9th and 10th for a festive celebration of fall. Shop local, enjoy the entertainment, and take in the newly revamped atmosphere of family fun.
3. Elyria Apple Festival - 400 Broad Street, Elyria
Head over to Ely Square Park from September 15th through 17th to enjoy the crispest flavors of the season. Get to know Elyria-area apple growers and enjoy some fresh cider at this super sweet event.
4. Johnny Appleseed Festival - 294 Pearl Road, Brunswick
Plan to spend September 23rd or 24th at the orchard, because this is a festivity you won't want to miss: a celebration of Johnny Appleseed's 243nd birthday! Enjoy entertainment or get lost in the Cleveland-themed corn maze.
5. Old West Pumpkin Fest - 19066 E River Road, Columbia Station
Rockin-R-Ranch becomes especially festive on October weekends! Enjoy pumpkin painting, explore the Family Fun House, or interact with the farm animals at the Petting Farm.
6. Ohio City Street Fest - 2525 Market Avenue, Cleveland
Autumn has descended upon the Ohio City streets, and the entire town is growing festive! On September 24th, plan to go to this artsy city to experience delicious cuisine, retail, and arts.
7. East Bank Bacon Festival - Old River Road & West 10th Street, Cleveland
On October 10th, the Flats East Bank will be overflowing with the aromatic scent of bacon. From noon to 10pm, bacon, beer, and bands can be found in great abundance at this brand new event. Proceeds will benefit the Hunger Network to fight hunger in Cuyahoga County.
8. Pumpkin Festival - 33775 Hiram Trail, Chagrin Falls
On October 8th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the best of autumn activities can be found in one epic place. Admission is $5, though children under 12 are free. Enjoy food, pick out pumpkins, and then adventure in the archery range or make slime!
9. Spooky Pooch Parade - 15450 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood
October 21st can't come fast enough! The coolest canines in town will gather in Kauffman Park for a parade worth barking about. Day-of registration is $15 per dog.
