Ride Along A Historic Steam Train At This Rare Event In Cincinnati
There are many opportunities throughout the Cincinnati area to step back in time and experience a bit of history firsthand. A unique chance to do just that is coming to our region in August as a historic steam engine will arrive at the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad. An engine of this kind has not visited LM&M Railroad in five years, so you’ll want to mark your calendar for this rare event. Hop aboard this steam train ride near Cincinnati, chug through the countryside, and learn more about this essential piece of our city’s history.

LM&M Railroad is one of many charming features of the city of Lebanon, just north of Cincinnati.
It's been five years since a steam engine visited LM&M Railroad and this year it will pull trains August 3rd, 4th, 10th, and 11th. Rides are available at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m.
The train ride will take about an hour and fifteen minutes and is appropriate for all ages.
You'll follow the same route as the Turtle Creek Valley Flyer, which runs between Lebanon and Hageman Junction. Be sure to arrive early to check out the engine before your ride. If you don't have a ticket, you can also come view the steam engine during its visit.
All seats for this excursion are on the Lackawanna coach cars, which are comfortable and have a historic and authentic atmosphere.
There is no air conditioning, but the windows open and fans will run if the weather is hot. Also keep in mind that the concession car will not be available during this ride.
