Cincinnati’s restaurant scene is stronger than ever, with so many local spots to enjoy a delicious meal. Some of these eateries are brand new, while others have stood the test of time and have been Queen City favorites for years. With so many dining options, it’s important to remember these longstanding restaurants, and one that is definitely worth a visit is Boswell’s in Northside. Located in a historic building with a bit of a hole-in-the-wall feel, this local dining destination is full of character and serves up some of the best food in the city.
Boswell's, or what some still refer to as Boswell Alley, is a local restaurant and bar on a historic street corner in Northside. The eatery is housed inside a building that dates back to 1886, and the name refers to the brick alley adjacent to the patio that was once used as a freight corridor.
Boswell's has had its ups and downs over the years, but it is now thriving, as are many local restaurants and shops in Northside. The atmosphere here is casual and cool, and you'll often get to enjoy live music while perusing the delicious menu.
And the menu really is a special one, filled with plenty of options to please any cravings. You'll find burgers, sandwiches, salads, entrees, and more - and all of it is freshly prepared and served in generous portions.
You'll want to start with an appetizer. We suggest going with either the wings or the Reuben skins. There are also vegetarian options, like the tasty spinach and artichoke dip.
Check out the specials for the day, which are frequently shared on their Facebook page (linked below). Your mouth will be watering before you even arrive at the restaurant.
While the interior of Boswell's has a historic pub atmosphere, the patio out back is green and relaxing. It's a great spot to escape to in this urban area of Cincinnati.
Boswell's is loved by many locals and definitely has a regular crowd, but if you've never tried it or you've simply forgotten about this little hole-in-the-wall restaurant, this is your reminder to visit and enjoy some of the best food in Cincinnati.
Boswell’s has long been a Cincinnati favorite, and if you have yet to visit this historic hole-in-the-wall (or even if it’s just been a while since you last dined here), add it to your list to try soon.
