Located in Cupertino, Yamagami's story began all the way back in 1948. At that time, Taro Yamagami operated a fruit stand in San Jose. The stand into a full-on nursery and was eventually bought by Mas and Betty Oka in 1963.

Decades later, the plant nursery has remained in the same family. Today's owners are the granddaughter of Mas and Betty and her husband. And the nursery and garden center are doing better than ever!
