Yosemite has boundless natural wonders to experience, but the waterfalls simply can’t be missed on a trip to this National Park. Yosemite Falls is the largest of the group, stretching 2,425 feet high.
Aside from being the tallest waterfall in Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Falls is one of the tallest waterfalls in the world. Consisting of three separate falls, you can spot the waterfall from various places around Yosemite Valley.
There are a number of ways to experience this natural wonder. For hikers, the most accessible is a one-mile loop that leads to the base of the lower falls. For the very ambitious, an all-day rigorous hike can take you to the top of the falls.
Keep an eye out for wildlife while visiting the park. You may spot deer or other animals grazing in the field near the waterfall. Our national parks represent some of the little pristine and untouched wildlife left in the country, and Yosemite is a prime example of that beauty.
No one can experience everything Yosemite has to offer in a day or even a week. Plan to spend a whole day on the falls to maximize the experience. You might find that while heading down one trail you find another stunning pathway to explore.
When planning a visit to the Yosemite Falls, it's important to consider the ebb and flow of the water. During the driest summer months, the waterfall won't be flowing. Yosemite Falls flows November through July with peak flow in May.
