Tucked away from the crowds, it takes some effort to find Chicken Ranch Beach. There are no signs pointing to it, but all you have to do is drive west on Sir Francis Drake Blvd all the way through the town of Inverness. You'll see the pullout for parking on the right side of the road, right after Tomales Bay Resort.
Once you arrive, you'll be in awe of this little beach's serene beauty. It may not be the largest beach in Northern California, but there's usually plenty of room to lay out, set up an umbrella, and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere.
The beach is located along the shores of Tomales Bay where the water is delightfully warm and calm. It's also very shallow, making it ideal for wading and families with young kiddos.
Best of all, entry to Chicken Ranch Beach is completely free—not bad for a day of family fun! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the spectacular scenery of rolling hills that surround you. This place is a true hidden gem.
