Sweetie Pies is located in a pink Victorian home that was one of the first homes built in Placerville. It is believed to have been built in 1865.
The inside of the small café is cozy and quaint, with flowered wallpaper and close quarters. It has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and you will feel right at home the moment you walk through the doors.
The restaurant is owned by Patty and Ron Clark, who purchased the building, restored it, and opened Sweetie Pies in 1991. It's been a staple of the community for the last 25 years.
The giant cinnamon rolls are a the go-to choice on the menu for many patrons. It's pretty common to eat a full service breakfast and then take one of these to go.
The self serve coffee bar allows you to help yourself to a drink while you wait for a table. It's quite a popular and lively spot, so you might be waiting for a table if you come on the weekends.
Owners Patty and Ron leave a letter to their patrons on the front of their menu, which just goes to show why the community loves this café as much as the café loves it's community. The regulars and visitors can attest that the place has plenty of small town charm.
