In a place as big as Northern California, it’s natural that some places should be a little less popular than others. With so many sights to see, some are going to fall through the cracks. One small town in Northern California that doesn’t get nearly as much love as it deserves is the little town of Pescadero in San Mateo County. Though its population is under 1,000, there’s a lot to see here. It makes for an absolutely delightful day trip that’s perfect for your next outing.

Pescadero may be a small town, but it's got some world-famous pie. Duarte's Tavern has been delighting Californians since 1894. It serves up delicious Portuguese and American foods.

No worries - Pescadero has a great little coffee shop for all your caffeine needs. Downtown Local is a quirky place that not only serves up artisan coffee, but also has a variety of vintage and handmade goods for sale.
Not only does Pescadero have delicious food, but there's plenty of natural beauty here as well.

Pescadero is home to the tallest lighthouse on the West Coast. Pigeon Point Light was built in 1871 and stands 115 feet tall.
