Towering at 7,067-feet, Donner Summit is one of the most breathtaking spots in the Sierra - and that's saying a lot. Boasting majestic views of the mountains and snow-covered pine trees, the winter scenery is nothing short of downright enchanting.
A Sno-Park permit is required for each vehicle parked at a Sno-Park site from November 1 through May 30. You can buy a permit for the day ($5) or for the season ($25.) Permits can easily be purchased
online or from select vendors.
The Sno-Park at Donner Summit is definitely popular, but the remote area and the large expanse of space makes it easy to have fun without constantly bumping into other families. The park is ideal for all sorts of winter play, from cross-country skiing and snowshoeing to sledding and snowman-building.
