The SkyStar Wheel towers 15 stories above Golden Gate Park. Before it came here, the SkyStar was previously installed in Louisville, Kentucky; Norfolk, Virginia; and Cincinnati, Ohio.

The SkyStar was installed in 2020 as part of Golden Gate Park's 150th anniversary celebrations. The installation was extra special since this is the first time an observation wheel like this has operated in San Francisco since the Midwinter International Exposition of 1894 was held in Golden Gate Park - pretty neat!

SkyStar is open Monday through Friday from noon to 10:00 pm, and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. You'll find it in Golden Gate Park, right between the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences at 1 Bowl Drive.

Tickets can be purchased online. General admission is $18, or $12 for seniors and children, and are sold for one-hour time windows.
