Golden Gate Park is full of lots of popular attractions, gardens, museums, and more. If we look beyond the beauty and fun, the sinister side emerges.
Stow Lake is the most infamous and haunted spot in Golden Gate Park. The creepy story concerns a mother who lost a baby to the lake and now her ghost must forever search for her child.
The haunted and sinister tale revolves around tales of a lady who comes up from the lake. Some have claimed to have seen a ghost approach and ask, "Have you seen my baby?" around Stow Lake. The area around the lake has been investigated by ghost hunters as well.
The Pioneer Mother statue at Stow Lake has haunted tales as well. There are claims that the statue has moved its head, as if looking for something, maybe the missing child. The sinister stories have been passed on for years.
There are stories of how the statue has been oddly damaged in ways that suggest paranormal activity. Various accounts of additional statues within the statue, and more that have baffled many for years. Clearly, the area around Stow Lake is one of the most haunted and mysterious parts of San Francisco.
There's also talk of a ghostly police offer in Golden Gate Park. A police officer has supposedly stopped speeders in suspicious circumstances. Drivers have claimed of being pulled over by an officer, and issued a ticket. This sinister and scary urban tale eventually unravels.
When people try to pay the tickets there is no record of one being issued. In addition, the police officer who issued isn't an active or working officer. Finally, it is revealed that the officer in question has been dead for over ten years. This is quite spooky, indeed.
Golden Gate Park has a lot of mysterious and sordid tales that range from disturbing murders. Don't forget to enjoy this majestic park though because it offers a lot in terms of attractions, beauty, and museums as well.
