When she's not tapping at a keyboard, she can be found leading groups on gourmet chocolate walking tours (best job ever) or running the many lovely hills and stairs of the city (to burn off all that chocolate, of course). She also runs a travel blog with her husband at Big & Small Travel (bigandsmalltravel.com).
With its moderate climate and nonstop epic views, San Francisco is a true paradise for anyone who likes the great outdoors. And even if you’re not much of an outdoorsy type, well, it’s hard not to fall in love with the hills, the parks, the ocean, and, yes, even the fog. Here are a few ways to break free from those walls, hit the pavement, and explore these 10 outdoorsy things to do in San Francisco.
2. Hop on a bike and explore the city. There are dedicated bike lanes throughout San Francisco with the most scenic spots around the Presidio and Bay. Don't own one? There are plenty of bike rental companies or you can grab a bike from one of the city's 35 bike share stations.
4. Explore Golden Gate Park's many awesome nooks and crannies, from the Dutch windmills to the Conservatory of Flowers to Strawberry Hill and Stow Lake.
8. Take a pleasant walk along the Embarcadero, from the Bay Bridge to Fisherman's Wharf. And keep going all the way to Crissy Field if you're up for it!
