San Francisco means a lot of things to many people. However, if you spend enough time here or are lucky enough to be a Franciscan then certain habits never go away. What kind of habits? If you’re looking for a reason to laugh, poke fun at yourself, or just be silly then this post will hit the nail on the head. Read about these amusing habits that locals can’t shake off.

1. Obsessed with the great outdoors
Year-round temperate weather and a love of nature makes San Francisco an easy place to enjoy if you love nature and the outdoors. There are over 220 parks and open spaces scattered throughout the city. San Francisco takes advantage of nearly every nook and cranny. And while Golden Gate Park and the Presidio are exceptional urban refuges, there are also an abundance of public rooftop spaces, mini parks, and hilltop sanctuaries to explore
2. Being stubbornly individualistic
The reputation of this city is that many locals like to march to their own drum. Whether it is with fashion, politics, arts, lifestyle, and more you won't find a more individualistic reputation than San Francisco.
3. Unable to contain their creativity
The reputation of locals is that they are artistic, curious about the arts, or perhaps a working or artist as a hobby. San Francisco loves art. The artistic history of San Francisco is long and well known.

San Franciscans take recycling very seriously, and this is a habit that is hard to break. Whether you need to recycle waste or throw out something permanently, this city is a leader in recycling and trash collection. The green image of San Francisco is strong due to the passionate zeal to protect the earth for all.
7. Demanding great food at all times
Everyone associates high quality, creative, and of course expensive food with San Francisco. This is because San Francisco locals demand great food and will pay more for it too. Food is a way of life for many people in the city.
8. Celebrating for any and all reasons
San Franciscans have many street parades, festivals, and celebrations. Let's face it, locals and visitors like to come to the city to celebrate and let loose. Of course not everyone enjoys it here, but this is celebratory reputation of San Francisco is strong.
9. Supporting mom and pop restaurants
San Franciscans love their local businesses especially restaurants. For example, it is rare to meet many San Franciscans who openly boast about eating at fast food chains. However, there will be always be disagreement the general consensus is that locals prefer locally owned spots.
10. Being utmost snobs about their coffee
San Franciscans take coffee more seriously than most if all other Americans. There are more cafes here than most cities of this size. The coffee companies and history that is relevant and groundbreaking says a lot.
