San Francisco is unbeatable for the beauty, nature, and outdoor activities. If you ever wanted to go running, hiking, or just walking then look no further than these paths!
We’re aware that these uncertain times are limiting many aspects of life as we all practice social and physical distancing. 1. Land's End Trail: 680 Point Lobos Avenue, San Francisco
A must-do trail, hike, and even run for any visitor or local this is by far one of the best places in San Francisco for a hike. There are miles of trails in the area, and they provide fantastic examples of coastal terrain while also letting you see the Golden Gate Bridge from many different angles. Lastly, don't miss the labyrinth hidden just beyond the Land's End Trail.
2. Presidio Promenade Trail: Lombard Gate, San Francisco
Presidio Promenade Trail is a worthwhile loop trail located in San Francisco that offers historical points of interest and scenic views. This is the ideal running trail and perfect for exploring as a hiker or casual stroll too!
3. Strawberry Hill Hike: 50 Stow Lake Drive, San Francisco
Golden Gate Park is ideal for running, walking, or just relaxing. Strawberry Hill in Golden Gate Park glows with every shade of green possible. And though you will have to go uphill, the hike is under 3 miles.
4. Bernal Hill - Bernal Heights Blvd, San Francisco, 94110
Take the paved trail that winds all the way up to the top, or take a shortcut through rockier paths, and get yourself another stunning 360 degree look of the city. This is perfect for any occasion!
5. Fort Funston Trails - 915 Lake Merced Boulevard, San Francisco, 94132
You can take one of the paved trails for a great run or just rough it and hike through the sandy dunes at this gorgeous oceanside park in the southwestern corner of the city. Want more action? Walk the 4-mile loop around nearby Lake Merced.
6. Crissy Fields Hike: Mason Street and Crissy Field Avenue
A flat walk guaranteed to thrill with all of the best city icons. Easy to run and relaxing for a scenic stroll. This hike from Crissy Field to Fort Point is one of the country's prettiest urban walks, with panoramic views galore.
7. Embarcadero Waterfront - Pier 7 The Embarcadero, San Francisco, 94111
This is the most well known boardwalk in the area and rightly so because it is beautiful. Take a pleasant walk along the Embarcadero, from the Bay Bridge to Fisherman's Wharf. And keep going all the way to Crissy Field if you're up for it! Perfect for runners and walkers! Beware: it gets really crowded.
8. McLaren Park - 116 John F Shelley Dr, San Francisco, 94134
The second-largest park in San Francisco features a 2.7-mile loop with stops along the way in which one can muse over quotes, historical facts, and interesting park info. At the top, guess what, more wonderful views spanning downtown to San Bruno.
9. Mission Creek Park: 4th St & Channel St, San Francisco
A hidden gem near downtown, Mission Creek Park has a great walking loop that starts at the 7th street entrance. Enjoy lots of greenery and beautiful scenery, check out the houseboats, and hit up the dog park with your pooch.
10. Ocean Beach Boardwalk - Great Hwy, San Francisco, 94121
Ideal for anything! This is the best spot for a scenic walk or run. Ocean Beach has a lot of attractions and it is near Golden Gate Park as well. You can walk or run along the beach or paved area with ease.
