One of the oldest buildings in town is the Holy Trinity Church. Built in 1873, this old church is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Trinidad is one of California's smallest incorporated cities. The last census count in 2010 showed a population of 367 residents.

In the community of Trinidad there are a few cafes and a restaurant. It doesn’t have a central downtown but the area is walkable.

Visit the Beachcomber Cafe for locally-sourced organic cuisine. The cafe has a casual outdoor patio where you can enjoy a meal. The town has more than a half dozen restaurants, most of which serve California coastal cuisine, like clam chowder and fresh crab.
Visit Trinidad Harbor where you can walk down Fisherman’s Wharf. The fishing charters in this area often depart from this wharf.

Nearby, is the Trinidad Head Trail. This 1.7 mile loop trail takes hikers around the rocky promontory which is a California National Landmark. On this hike you’ll get a close-up look at the historic Trinidad Head Lighthouse.
Trinidad State Beach is a long, sandy beach located within walking distance of the town.

The beach overlooks many of the offshore rocks. This beach also has places where visitors can go tidepooling. Trinidad State Beach is also pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your pup.
Located, a short drive north of town is Sue-meg State Park in Trinidad. This beach is a long stretch of sand next to a lush promontory.

This beach was formerly known as Patrick’s Point State Park. Sue-meg is the name the Yurok people use for this beach. Today, visitors to the beach can view a recreated Yurok village, plus a visitors center, picnic areas, and a native plant garden.
There are several other beautiful beaches you should visit while in Trinidad. Moonstone Beach and Old Home Beach are both stunning, the latter of which is located within walking distance to the town.
