The Avenue of the Giants is a 31-mile scenic route on Highway 101 that takes you through Humboldt Redwoods State Park. You’ll be astounded by these ancient redwood trees as you make your way through this amazing and scenic slice of Northern California.
Trees in the Avenue of Giants are so large you can drive through them, like this aptly named Drive-Thru-Tree.
The loggers who cut the path through this tree carefully avoided damaging it to the point where it can still live, but no more trees are allowed to be cut in this way.
