There are many beautiful waterfalls in Northern California, and some of them you don’t even need to leave the paved parking area or roadside to fully enjoy their beauty. This stunning waterfall flows over a rough rock face, scattering the water in all directions. It's a sight to behold.

If you are up to the task, there's a neat little cave behind this cascade that you can walk into and gain a new perspective on the falls.

As you drive west on Highway 50 (towards Placerville as you leave Tahoe), keep your eye on the peaks before you as you descend Meyer's Grade. Before you enter the town of Strawberry, you'll be able to catch a glimpse of this cascade of white water as it flows over the granite rock of Desolation Wilderness.

You can enjoy amazing views of the falls from the parking lot.
