California is well-known as home to some of the most spectacular redwood tree forests in the world, particularly in the northern part of the state. Among them is Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park.

Located approximately 15 miles east of Highway 101 off Highway 36 in Carlotta, CA, Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park features some of the state’s most beautiful redwood trees.

One of the benefits of coming here is that it is off-the-beaten-path, which means it will feel like you practically have the entire park to yourself.
Because of the park’s location, and its size, an intimate one square mile, it feels like a world away.

In a throwback to a long-gone era, the park offers fun and educational campfire programs led by seasoned docents who love sharing their knowledge. There is also a Visitor Center where tourists—whether visiting for the day or staying in the campground, can learn about the various wildlife and plants that inhabit the area.

Beautiful, secluded, and historic. This is the vibe you’ll experience at the little-known but no less wonderful Grizzly Creek Redwoods State Park.
