The Lavender Festival In Northern California That’s Unlike Any Other
If you are a very “scentual” person, you may love the smell of lavender. Known for its multipurpose and healing properties, it is used in everything from bath and body products to essential oils, tea, and even in restaurant menu creations. To celebrate this wonderful plant, and pick your own to take home, head on over to the annual Cache Creek Lavender Festival. This lavender festival in Northern California is fun for the whole family to kick off the summer.
Held June 11 - 12, 2022, the Cache Creek Lavender Festival is an annual favorite.
It has been called by different names in ancient civilizations such as Egypt, Greece, Persia, Rome, and others, however, the most common nomenclature root is believed to have come from the Latin root “lavare” (to wash). It was also widely used during the Victorian and Renaissance eras.
Spectacularly hued and oh so fragrant, lavender contains numerous healing properties.
The festival was the natural progression for the proprietors at the farm, who have always focused not just on growing and selling lavender but on educating the general public about the fragrant plant’s deep cultural roots and tradition. In addition to growing and harvesting several lavender varieties each season, they also use it to create a wide array of signature organic lavender-based products and gifts available for purchase, including bath salts, massage oils, soaps, roll-on perfumes, and hand sanitizer, just to name a few.
Traversing the fields to pick your own lavender plants is another highlight of the festival.
