The Beautiful Lavender Farm Hiding In Plain Sight In Northern California That You Need To Visit
There are so many amazing farms and rural vistas here in Northern California, but there is nothing quite like this lavender farm. The views alone will take your breath away, and the restorative benefits of lavender and the incredible scent of this flower are nothing short of spectacular. The Mount Shasta Lavender Farm is located near the Oregon border and is definitely worth a visit.
Mount Shasta Lavender Farms is open seasonally and by appointment. It is located just north of Mt. Shasta City.
Visitors are drawn here by the intoxicating views of this amazing little flower, which has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. It's also just plain beautiful!

Fun Fact: Lavender Oil is also a great mosquito repellent, and with an increasing awareness of the bad chemicals most off-the-shelf products carry, this is a great alternative for keep those pesky creatures from biting.
You can pick up essential oils here at the Mount Shasta Lavender Farm, as well as any other lavender products you might need. The lavender here is watered from a deep well of naturally carbonated water with the same pH as rain water. It thrives in well-drained volcanic soil and enjoys a full southwestern exposure.
The peak season here is June through August, but it's good to have it on your radar in advance. The drive out here takes you down a dirt road, so make sure you are prepared for that trek. It takes about 40 minutes to get here from McCloud.
It's a really hot area in the summertime, so visiting early in the day or after the sun reaches its peak and the fields have a little shade on them is advised.
