The land for Sequoia Park was donated to Eureka by Bartlin and Henrietta Glatt in 1894. At the time, it was the last stand of redwood trees in the city. In fact, some of the original 40-acre old-growth is still standing to this day.

A series of developed trails, stairways, bridges, and roads make exploring the park's diverse landscape easier than ever. The park contains over a mile of wheelchair and stroller accessible trails. One trail is an old road that runs through the forest and behind the Sequoia Zoo.

The other trail is the Sequoia Creek Trail. It heads west from the Duck Pond and takes you through meadows before looping back along a forested creek. With so much to see, you could spend hours simply strolling and taking it all in.
