These Floating Campsites In Northern California Are The Ultimate Place To Stay Overnight This Summer
Northern California is a camper’s paradise. If you love sleeping outdoors, this place is perfect. There’s only one place where you can stay on an outdoor floating campsite, however, and that’s Lake Oroville.
Renting out one of Oroville’s 9 floating campsites is like signing up for a great time. Curious about learning more? Check out this fun video and keep reading to learn all about the included amenities and opportunities for fun.
As you can see in the video above, until you arrive with food, water, camping equipment, and entertainment, these floating campsites are pretty bare.
Each one, however, includes the following basic amenities: camp table, sink, propane BBQ grill (propane provided), lockable closet, restroom, covered living area, an upper sun deck/sleeping area and room for tents. There's no potable water, so don't forget that!
These boat in campsites require you to have your own transportation, as well. Once you make sure everything on the packing list is accounted for and you set up camp, the fun begins!
Boating, swimming, hiking, and relaxing in the sun are all perfect activities that you can do from dawn until dusk when one of these floating campsites is home base.
The floating campsites are managed by the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area and you can book by calling (530) 538-2219. They are pulled out of the water during the wintertime, as you can see here.
For more information on floating campsite rentals on Lake Oroville, visit the State Recreation Area Site and click here.
Would you sleep out on the lake on one of these floating campsites? Or would you rather rent out one of the more expensive but more luxurious houseboats? Share you thoughts with us in the comments.
