For many of us who grew up in Northern California, nothing says home like visiting a farm in the early fall where you can pick out your own apples or pumpkins, breathe the fresh mountain air, and enjoy some scrumptious baked goods.
High Hill is one of the famous apple orchards that make up Apple Hill, located off Highway 50 just east of Placerville.
And it's impossible to go there and not take home a pie... they are just as delicious as what grandma used to make. Try the Caramel Apple Pie, pictured here.
All these fun and exciting attractions don't detract from the idyllic beauty of the apple orchards and surrounding foothills. High Hill is a treat and a great way to get out and see this part of our region.
