Coming from a large underground reservoir, the water held within emerges as springs that feed Burney Falls all the water it needs to create art.
If you can believe it, an average of 100 million gallons flow down this 129-foot-tall curtain of water into the pool below. Nature is truly amazing once you think about everything it does. When you have stunning scenery like this, a mile-long hike feels like nothing, especially with all of the time you'll spend just enjoying the water.
On your hike, make sure not to leave anything behind, and pack up everything you brought out before you leave. Keeping beautiful areas like this as clean and natural as possible is always a good goal to have.
The park and falls have a lot of visitors from April through October, the prime hiking season in this area. Hiking this trail after 4 p.m. is recommended to make sure there is room in the parking lot for you when you arrive. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset, so you won't miss out on anything if you need to plan for later in the day. Happy hiking!
