Gable Mansion in Woodland, California is a California Registered Historical Landmark and a breathtaking work of art. Located in the small historic district of Woodland, this mansion is the centerpiece of the area.

Gable Mansion makes a great backdrop for photos. The beautiful home with Victorian, Italiante, and Gothic details is set against the bucolic backdrop of Yolo County. It’s like a scene out of a movie!

The home is currently occupied. You can take pictures outside but do not ring the doorbell. Periodically, the property’s gardens are open for public events.
The mansion, built in 1885, is in Victorian Italianate style. At around 11,000 square feet, Gable Mansion is a truly spectacular home.

Each room in the mansion is full of colorful details, plus ornate ceilings that make the structure a work of art.

Gable Mansion was originally built for pioneer cattle ranchers Amos and Harvey Gable. The mansion cost less than $20,000 at the time. It was sold for the first time in 1972.

In 2018, the home was up for sale for the third time since being built. The initial asking price was $4 million.
Located in Yolo County, an area mostly known for farmland and being the location of University of California, Davis, Gable Mansion really stands out.

A plaque in front of the mansion notes it is "one of the last of its style, size, and proportion in California."
Of course the pool is not original to the mansion. In this area of California, summers get very hot so a pool is practically a necessity, especially for a mansion.

Many historic homes are privately owned, so it's at the owner's discretion if they want to invite the public inside. The public can walk past, take pictures, and read the plaque that indicates when and why the home was built.
