Word After Word has been serving residents of Truckee and fulfilling their bookish needs since 2017. Boasting titles from local authors, regional and historic books about the area, and outdoor-centric magazines, they've proven they are uniquely suited to this mountain community.
Like many shops during this trying time, they've been forced to close their doors to physical browsing for the time being. However, that does NOT mean you have to go without precious books. Not only are they still processing online orders, but they are delivering them as well!
Book lovers can place an order on their website. It takes about a day to process orders of books that are currently in stock, and a bit longer for out-of-stock books. But rest assured, the store's tiny crew is always working hard to get residents their new books.
Shipping has always been an option, but due to the current times they are now offering "No-Touch" delivery Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Simply place your order and they'll deliver your books right to your door, if you live in the area.
Not only is this a great way to keep up on your reading while self-quarantine is being advised, but it's an excellent way to show support for a small locally-owned business. After all, it's these small businesses that are being hit the hardest right now, so it's important more than ever to help them keep afloat.
