Baldwin Beach Has Some Of The Clearest Water In Northern California
Spanning both sides of the California/Nevada State Line, Lake Tahoe is one of the most spectacular lakes in the country. Believed to have been formed during the ice ages approximately 2 million years ago, it is truly a natural wonder. It is here that you will find numerous spectacular beaches. Among them is Baldwin Beach. In fact, many visitors have said this is some of the clearest water in Northern California.
Located about a 15-minute drive at the mid-point between both Emerald Bay and the city of South Lake Tahoe, Baldwin Beach features some of the clearest water in California.
Part of the clarity and beauty of Baldwin Beach stems from the fact that it rests along the shores of Lake Tahoe, which holds the distinction as the largest freshwater lake in the Sierra Nevada region.
The water is so clear, in fact, that depending on how deep you are in, you can see all the way to the bottom.
The picturesque sandy shores here seem to go on forever, although Baldwin Beach itself only extends for approximately one-half mile.
During the summer months folks flock here to enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming, and simply laying out and taking in the gorgeous views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in the distance.
Crystal-clear water, the picturesque shore of Lake Tahoe, and a spectacular mountain backdrop. That’s all you need to get your Baldwin Beach grove on!
