Every year, Oakland's Lake Merritt is illuminated by brilliant displays of color during the Autumn Lights Festival. This year's festival is coming up soon, scheduled to take place October 14-16, 2021.

The Gardens will be lit up by dazzling displays over the span of three October nights. This isn't your typical light display, either. Consisting of 60 locally-produced art displays by local artists, the sight is certainly something to remember.
Nothing beats strolling through the beautiful gardens while surrounded by so many fantastic, colorful displays. The festival operates from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. each day. Tickets are $25 for adults, $7 for kids ages 6-17, and free for children 5 and under.
In addition to the illuminated art displays, the Autumn Lights Festival also hosts live entertainment, an art market, and a fun zone for kids. This is a great way to make some cherished family memories this fall!
After taking in all of the gorgeous lights, you can enjoy a bite to eat at the food court where you'll find an array of local food trucks. There will also be beer and wine gardens. The mesmerizing event is a benefit for the non-profit group Friends of the Gardens at Lake Merritt, who work diligently all year to sustain the Gardens' facilities and programs.
