I love looking at rare, older photographs of a time that is now passed. In spite of the time difference, pieces of then still remain. These photos are great examples of that. The stories kept and passed down by those who lived through it are another. Both of these deserved to be shared to keep those memories alive, and here is a showcasing of the visual side.
If any of these photos remind you of stories of North Dakota’s past, your family, or otherwise, please share them! It’s always a pleasure to read about the roots people have in this great state.

Can you believe so much has changed in less than a hundred years? Time just seems to whip by, which is why it’s important to pause a moment and reflect.
Leah moved to North Dakota when she was 12 years old and has traveled from the Red River Valley to the badlands and many places in between. She loves small-town life and currently enjoys living on a small farm in the ND prairie. She's always had a passion for writing and has participated in novel writing challenges such as NaNoWriMo multiple times. Her favorite part about this job is recognizing small businesses that deserve a boost and seeing the positive affect her articles can have on their traffic, especially in rural areas that might have otherwise gone overlooked.
